Most of us have been told by doctors, parents, friends and other people in our lives that we should avoid high fat foods because it will clog our arteries, lead to heart attack, high cholesterol and other unwanted health consequences.

United States Department of Agriculture through their Food Guide Pyramid suggests to limit fat to 30% of calories and to consume most calories from bread, cereal, rice and pasta:

How has that been working out for people living in US for the last 30 years?

Just looking at a recent article, according to The Fiscal Times, obesity in 2015 is at record high levels:

If you get most of your calories from carbohydrates, avoid fat and people are getting more and more obese, something is obviously not working.

High fat low carb diet means that you get higher proportion of your calories from fat and lower from carbohydrates. You eat real foods such as meat, fish, eggs, butter and vegetables while avoiding things full of sugar and starches. You eat when you're hungry as much as you like and stop when you’re not hungry anymore. There is no calorie counting or measuring your portions and if you're overweight, you will still lose weight and improve your health.

If you're new to low carb high fat diet, here is a great resource that explains it very well:
