I am Maria from Brazil. I have lost about eleven kilos by reducing carbs. Problem is that it has been so difficult to mantain this. Staying motivated is also a hard task. I want to lose about four or five kilos more and keep it for good. Nobody around me eats the same way as I do. So, I always watch people eating so many candies, cakes, cookies and so on. When I am strongly focused it is easy to see them eating in front of me and not desire to eat the same as they do. However , when I am kind of lost, oh my God, lots of times I found myself craving and eating everything, feeling guilty but eating. I want to eat healthy food everyday. After going on a healthy diet, I never ate a bread again without feeling guilty. I hope I can make friends here and I hope we can motivate one another. I am walking a lonely, totally lonely path over here. I need to be around people who eat low carb but there is anybody over here. Workmates, family members, friends, all people eat lots of carbs, sweeted stuff , etc. I am confident that I will make the healthy eating a permanent habit for my whole life. Thanks so much! Brazilian Hugs

Hi Maria,

Congrats on loosing 11 kilos!

I know how you feel. Everybody around me is eating things such as bread, pasta and sweets including my wife and kids. We try to limit sweets our kids eat but for now, they still eat starchy foods.

Bread and other starchy foods were actually not very hard for me to give up and I don't miss those much. Sugar has been the hardest.

There are days when I know I'll be eating a lot of carbs such as special occasions or events and I don't limit myself to what I eat there. I know that the next day, I will go back to eating my regular low carb high fat diet and since this is occasional, it doesn't cause problems for me.

Stay motivated and welcome to the forum!

Robert

Hi Robert! Thank you for your response and for you support. Congratulations on losing weight even having family eating carbs around you. We need to make low carb a life style. Doing this we will not only lose weight but also never get fat again. Let's continue doing what we have to do: eating low carb. Thanks. Hugs.
