I decided to track my fat vs. carbs vs. protein yesterday and realized that my carbs and protein were about equal. Today I made an effort to eat more fat and more protein, but I'm still hungry every three hours! (My fat content was nice and high today, and protein was in a good range with very low carbs.) Is this just my body's way of adjusting to losing all of those extra carbs? I thought the rule was to eat until I'm full, which I've been doing, but I ate until "very full" at lunch today, and (three hours later), I'm so hungry that I feel sick! Any thoughts or tips?Should I maybe add a little more meat to my diet?

First, I would make sure that you're actually getting majority of your calories from fat. When I eat my breakfast, I add a lot of butter. I also add heavy cream to my coffee and those are pretty much pure saturated fat. When I first started HFLC, if I was hungry, I ate peanuts or a few pieces of cheese. I also made fat bombs and would eat those in between meals if I was getting hungry. I didn't really worry about overeating as long as it was on fat. I eat decent amount of meat so maybe that was helping as well. |
